Using Data as a Policy Maker
The ‘Using data as a policy maker’ event was held at The Guildhall in Winchester, in December 2015, in conjunction with Southern Policy Centre and Know Now Information. There was an excellent line-up of speakers, and also a live-link with the City of Bendigo in Australia.
Big thanks to @OpenDataAha & @policysouth for yesterday’s #odpolicy session. Bubbling over about applications for big data for policy makers

Informing Hampshire: “Open Data: Fuel for decision-making”
‘Informing Hampshire’ is a regular series of events aimed at public service providers in Hampshire.
Several events were hosted by Hampshire County Council in 2014, initially to discuss requirements for an open data store for Hampshire, and subsequently to showcase different aspects of decision-making, including (open) data and customer insight.
Mark Braggins organised the December 2014 event, which covered open data as “fuel” for decision-making.
@Protohub Wow – #infohants looks like it will be a really interesting event. Hadn’t heard it was happening. Look forward to updates
— Simon Perry (@simonperry) October 24, 2014
It was actually Simon’s tweet which led to the birth of Open Data Camp.
